Attorney Travis Mydock received his business degree and law degree from the University of Florida. Now as a Board-Certified Specialist in Criminal Trial Law, his law practice is limited to DUI and criminal defense related matters.
His experience spans more than a decade on both sides of the courtroom as a prosecutor and defense attorney in northeast Florida. He has handled over 3,500 criminal cases and 45 criminal jury trials to verdict. He defends all types of state criminal cases. A large portion of his practice is related to the defense of DUI, domestic violence, gun crimes, and drug crimes.
Travis was first Board-Certified in Criminal Trial Law by The Florida Bar from 2017-2022 and recertified from 2022-2027. Board certification requires special knowledge and experience in criminal trial law, in addition to written examination and peer review. Prior to his solo-practice, Travis served as an Assistant State Attorney for more than five years throughout the Seventh Judicial Circuit. In 2023, Travis was recognized with The Florida Bar President’s Award.
Travis currently serves as a Chairman of the Seventh Judicial Circuit, Judicial Nominating Commission for the State of Florida (2023). He was nominated twice by The Florida Bar and appointed twice by Governor Ron DeSantis to serve in this position. As a JNC7 Commissioner, he is responsible for the vetting, interview, and nomination of applicants for judicial vacancies occurring in Saint Johns, Volusia, Flagler and Putnam Counties.
Travis is a past president of the Saint Johns County Bar Association, Saint Johns County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Gator Club of Saint Augustine. He is a past-governor on The Florida Bar, Young Lawyers Division, Board of Governors as well as a past-chairman of The Florida Bar, Bar Grievance Committee 7B.
